About

Rosalie Howell (b. Michigan, 1999) is an artist and art educator from North Carolina.

Growing up surrounded by picture books and animation, Howell developed a love for illustration at a young age. She draws inspiration from childhood memories, medieval illuminated manuscripts, aesthetics of the modern age, and growing up in the South. Her mediums of choice are fine liner pens, watercolors, and gouache.

Howell graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2021 with a BFA in Art Education and has been teaching ever since. She received her MA in Studio Practice for Art Educators at Teachers College of Columbia in 2025. Howell teaches high school art in Eden, North Carolina.
